12 Days of Liberty 2004, Day 1

My Thoughts On: April 2nd, 2004

Retrospective comment (2009): Someday I'll do this again, I remember how fun it was back in the day. It was kind of like Hanukkah only instead of celebrating Jewish traditions and getting gifts every day, I just updated my websites with lots of new content.

12 Days of Liberty (April 2nd-13th)

Day 1:

Well, it's time for the fiesta to begin! Yep, the "12 Days of Liberty" is a celebration of the SuperPatriot network, all the stuff we've accomplished here, and more broadly the advancement of liberty throughout the ages, something we strongly stand for.

Each day for the next 12 Days, the 2nd-13th, will feature a significant upgrade or addition to the SuperPatriot Network. I'm going to announce what goes on here, on my personal website, so each day check back.

For most of you, I can imagine that this first day's update to SP.net is not all that great, but for me and select regular readers, it's very important. Thomas Jefferson is back from his month-long haitus and his journal has an entirely new look to it! Big new update on the Thomas Jefferson LiveJournal as the story continues. If you aren't into it now, take a time to check it out, because things are coming up soon that will make it much more worthwhile to be a regular reader of "TeeJ".

(sorry non-IE users, the new layout comes at your expense, LiveJournal doesn't give you much flexibility over design)

April 2nd marks the official birthdate of Thomas Jefferson, in the Old Style calendar (check it out - it's even what it reads on his tombstone). The 13th is Jefferson's birthday on our official calendar. The 11 day difference is caused by the change from the Julian calendar to the more accurate Gregorian calendar.

Ironically, Xavier and I are part of a cosmic coincidence. I was born on April 2nd, and Xavier was born on April 13th - both dates that are considered dates of Jefferson's birthday. For those of you who don't know us, our views of Liberty are almost entirely derived from Jefferson's landmark philosophical stances, and it's our "patriotism of shared principles" that prompted us to do much of what we do now online, and in life in general.

Expect more! Much more! Perverted-Justice.com will have some major changes, and several important additions to the 'NAM, even things that affect our SuperPatriot.net forums, as well as tons of new material everywhere. Don't believe me? Come back tomorrow, the 3rd, for Day 2 of our celebration.
